Q. I'm 112, 5'4. I'm trying to lose 14 pounds as fast as I can. I'm doing 1 hour on the stairmaster, and eating less than 1000 cal a day. No comments on how it is unhealthy please.

A. The systolic looks great and the diastolic is a bit low. There's nothing to really worry about. 120/80 mmHg is standard in the US. A systolic above 140 is cause for concern and between 90 and 120 is ideal. A diastolic below 50 can be unhealthy. Multiple BP readings can give a better indication of this patient's standing.

A. Hey bro, this is the car audio section, you need to ask that in the musical instrument section. Just so you know, Tube amps CAN sound amazing, but they require a ton of maintanence, and there's a very good chance that whoever is trading the amp to you, hasn't replaced the tubes in quite a while. Tell them it's a good deal, as long as they are willing to replace the tubes before the trade. (Check the brand on the tubes too)

A. 1100 calories. 450 from protein/450 from fat/200 from carbs. That will drop the fat. Some people lose 10lbs the first week eating like this. Granted, that is only water weight and not fat but it's still encouraging. Expect 1-2 lbs on average per week to lose fat in a healthy manner. Meaning to lose fat only. Also remember that fat loss is linear. You won't lose 2 lbs every week. You might not lose any one week and 4 the next week. Then 1 lb the following and 3 lbs the week after. etc

Q. My mastiff was injured at 3 weeks of age when the breeders abused him and shattered his right hind leg and left him for dead. A. First, when in doubt...ask your vet. A phone call should do and it's free! But, in your case there should be recommended doses according to weight on the bottle its self. Glucosamine and Chondroitin are commonly given to breeds that are prone to joint problems. Also, some quality large breed dog foods contain G&C! I commend you for giving your rescue a chance at a good life!!!

When your diastolic pressure is high, that is considered more serious because that is the pressure on your heart at rest; in other words, you heart is under increased pressure all the time, and the pressure increases with each heart beat. This can cause cardiac remodeling (where the heart muscle changes shape over time to accomodate for the increased pressures), which leads to high blood pressure, other vascular diseases, and strokes. Definately get checked out if this is your blood pressure, this isnt something you want to mess with!
