How do I convert an absolute error of 0 1 to percentage error?
Q. If I have a range of values from -1 to 1 as my error, how can I change this into a percentage error? As in, for 5 1, it would be 5 0.2% What should I do in this case (1/0 , cannot divide by zero) Oops, yeah sorry, 20%.

A. A common approach to this sort of problem is to use the statistical standard deviation as a measure of data spread. This approach assumes that the errors are a random spread. The mean of the data is given by: - x(mean) = x1 + x2 + x3 + ... + xn ...___ ...n Where each of the x's are measured data points for the n recorded measurements. The standard deviation is given by: - = ( (xi - x(mean))/(n-1)) Where means the sum of and the xi's are the individual data points.
